- OUR STORY - The story of Patagonia Proteins began in 2022 when its founder, Walter Siebert, notices that quality of plant-based protein supplements was bad, and not even tasty at all, meaning that protein isolates were containing everything but mostly not protein. After almost two years of development and experimenting with the most singular ingredients, we crafted our first product. Patagonia Proteins are made from lupine beans natively grown and harvested in Northern Patagonia, which impressively deliver a 76% of protein concentration and reach a PDCAAS (Protein Digestibility-Corrected Amino Acid Score) of ~0.9 which is a top tier index for a plant-based protein.
- WHAT IS LUPINE? - The lupine bean is a superfood that has the highest concentration of grain protein in the world. The most ancient evidence of lupine consumption dates back 4,000 years ago during the 12th dynasty of ancient Egypt. Most recently, the Andean American variety of this lupine bean, was domesticated by pre-Incan inhabitants of present-day Peru. Nowadays, lupine plants are under widespread cultivation around the world, including Northern Patagonia, where fertile soil and purest rains grow one of the best lupine varieties in the world. In Patagonia Proteins we are committed to delivering the best plant-based protein from the most remote part of the world.
